This photograph was taken at Hegra, a UNESCO World Heritage site in Al-Ula, Saudi Arabia — a land shaped by time, history, and divine decree.
Standing here, I was struck by how precisely the rock is split — as if engineered, measured, and preserved beyond human intent. Whether shaped by the hands of the Nabataeans, or by forces far greater than us, it becomes impossible to stand here without reflection.
This place speaks quietly.
It does not shout loss — it reveals what remains.
Time moves forward, civilizations vanish, and human strength fades. Yet Allah leaves signs in the world for those willing to look beyond surface beauty. The earth itself becomes a reminder: life is fragile, guidance is constant, and mercy is always present — even in what appears broken.
I felt small here.
Not insignificant, but aware.
Aware that the Akhirah is better than what we chase,
and that what truly remains is not power, nor permanence —
but remembrance.
